WELCOME
The Reflective Journey Foundation is dedicated to helping families facing unforeseen tragic events, supporting children with disabilities, strengthening local communities, and honoring veterans who have served with courage. The mission is rooted in compassion and built on real experience with hardship, resilience, and service. The foundation exists to provide immediate support, meaningful connection, and practical help when people need it most.
HOW WE GOT STARTED

The Reflective Journey Foundation began with two people who share the same heart for helping others. Since the day we met, our lives blended in a natural and seamless way. We discovered quickly that we shared the same beliefs, the same passions, and the same drive to lift people who are struggling. Every idea we dreamed up was met with support from the other. When the idea of creating a foundation was first shared, it was an immediate yes from both of us.

Our backgrounds shaped the mission. Michael survived the Boston Marathon bombing and spent decades serving children and families as an educator, coach and School Resource Officer. Casey earned a degree in education and worked in schools supporting students with diverse needs. She later transitioned into healthcare with a focus on improving patient and family experiences through sales and marketing. She spent years helping people through some of the hardest days of their lives, and compassion is at the center of everything she does.

We are parents to three incredible children. Makena is sixteen. Mia is six. Chase is eight and has autism. Casey is his fiercest advocate and a true superhero in his life. Supporting a child with disabilities gives us firsthand understanding of the unique challenges families face. This experience is one of the biggest reasons the foundation will focus on helping children and families with similar needs.

For a long time we helped quietly on our own. A family facing a tragic event. A child with a disability who needed support. A veteran trying to find stable ground. We talked about how we could do more, how we could reach more people, and how we could turn our shared passion into a lifelong commitment.

The spark that moved this dream forward came as we prepared to run the Boston Marathon with Michael’s bib to support TEAM14, Dave Scott’s foundation. It forced us to ask bigger questions. How can we make a lasting impact? What legacy do we want to leave? After many late nights, real conversations, a few tears, and honest moments of doubt, the path became clear.

The Reflective Journey Foundation is the result. It is built on our lived experience, our family, and our shared belief that people deserve help during their hardest moments. We are committed to this work, and there is no stopping us.
WHAT WE DO
The Reflective Journey Foundation provides support to families, children, veterans, and communities during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Our work is rooted in compassion, practical help, and a belief that no one should feel alone when life changes without warning.

We focus on four core areas of support:

Families facing sudden or unforeseen tragic events
We help families who experience unexpected loss or crisis by offering immediate support, resources, and connection.

Children with disabilities
We understand the daily challenges families face because we live it ourselves. We provide support that helps ease the burden on parents and improves opportunities for children with disabilities.

Veterans and their families
We honor veterans by offering support to those who have served. Our mission includes helping veterans and their families navigate difficult transitions and unexpected needs.
Community impact and kindness projects
We support local communities through annual drives, neighborhood projects, and partnerships that bring people together and strengthen connections.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do!
This foundation is not built on two people. It is built on a growing community of helpers. Our board members and volunteers are passionate, kind, and caring individuals who believe deeply in serving others. They bring experience from education, healthcare, law enforcement, business, and community leadership. They also bring a wealth of connections and resources that make our mission possible.

We work as a team. Every act of support, every project, and every outreach effort is strengthened by the people who stand with us. Their dedication allows us to make a greater impact and reach more families who need help.
Meet the Team
Compassion. Support. Connection. Service
The Reflective Journey Foundation is powered by people who lead with compassion and act with purpose. Our team brings together backgrounds in education, healthcare, law enforcement, community service, veteran support, and family advocacy. We are parents, helpers, and supporters who share one goal. Stand with families, children, veterans, and communities during their hardest moments. Each member brings unique skills, lived experience, and personal connections that make our work stronger. We believe in kindness, collaboration, and action, and we are committed to building a foundation that makes a real difference.
OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM
The Reflective Journey Foundation would not be possible without the support of volunteers who believe in our mission and give their time, energy, and heart to help others. Our volunteers come from near and far, each bringing their own strengths, experiences, and commitment to service. They help us reach more families, support more children, stand with more veterans, and build stronger communities. Their kindness and dedication inspire every part of this work, and we are grateful for each person who chooses to stand with us.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
There are many ways to support the Reflective Journey Foundation. Whether you want to volunteer, partner with us, donate, or connect us with a family or cause that needs support, every action helps strengthen the communities we serve. Choose the path that fits you best.
